the Quran - Jerusalem Faiths
The Quran is the central religious text for the Muslim faith. It literally means "the recitation", and is considered to be the best piece of literature in the Arab language. Muslims believe that the Quran was verbally revealed by the angel Gabriel to Muhammed, from the year 609 CE to the year 632 CE, when Muhammed died.
In Islam, the Quran is proof of Muhammed's prophecy and is considered to be the culmination of divine messages which began with Adam in heaven.
The Quran is a book of guidance, offering detailed accounts of historic events and also teaching many important moral lessons to followers of the faith. In addition to the Quran, Muslims use the Hadith interpretation to achieve the Sharia law.
