Jesus on the Cross in Jerusalem

Jesus on the Cross in Jerusalem

Jesus was arrested, tried and sentenced by Pontius Pilate in Jerusalem. He was later crucified and nailed on the cross on the hill of Golgotha (skull in Hebrew) aka the Calvary.

Many Christians believe this portrait to symbolize how cruel Jesus’ death was. On this cross, Jesus is nailed on the cross with four nails.

Although there have been other allegations challenging on where and how Jesus was crucified, history and research have shown that He was crucified on the cross, in Jerusalem in or in the vicinity of Jerusalem's modern day Old City.

This symbol of Jesus on the cross in Jerusalem shows the pain, suffering and sacrifice that Jesus underwent in favor of man’s sins; according to the biblical teachings.
