The Israel Museum - Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are exhibited
The Shrine of the Book is home to the Dead Sea Scrolls, one of the most important historical finds discovered in archaeological digs in the State of Israel. Therefore, the Israel Museum built a special building to house these ancient scrolls. The building is cooled by the water fountain which runs on its unique exterior, and the scrolls themselves are preserved underground in special conditions.
Many thousands of visitors flock to the Israel Museum in Jerusalem every day to view the Dead Sea Scrolls and other important exhibits, and the new wing of the Israel Museum also displays conventional artwork and Jewish artifacts from around the world.
