Closed Jerusalem Old City Market
The Old City of Jerusalem is the pounding heart of Jerusalem both historically and spiritually. It is surrounded by walls that were built in 1538 by the Muslim Ottoman Empire Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. Nowadays, The Old City in Jerusalem is divided into four Quarters:
The Jewish Quarter (the center of Jewish life in the old city), the Armenian Quarter, the Christian Quarter (entrance from Jaffa gate) and the largest of them all – The Muslim Quarter.

The spiritual atmosphere of the Old City of Jerusalem is truly unique. You can feel it just by walking through the labyrinth streets or crossing narrow mysterious alleyways. It seems natural that the past dominates the present and one can sometimes feel the long history of Jerusalem. Despite its small size, the amount of important religious sites in the old city is incredible. Some of them include: The Western Wall, the Way of the Cross (aka Stations of the Cross, Via Dolorosa, Via Crucis) the Temple Mount, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslims.
