The Holy Sepulchre Church in Jerusalem –Katholicon, as it is known to Greek Orthodox worshipers. This area,meaning the Greek Choir of the Canons, occupies the central area of the HolySepulchre Church in Jerusalem. Adorned with Byzantine mosaics depicting, the TheHoly Sepulchre Church in Jerusalem – Katholicon is supported by archesjoined to the Crusader columns depicting the Evangelists. The rear of Katholiconis divided into two by marble arches and columns, and behind them are thetraditional Greek Orthodox icons. Two Patriarchal thrones are reserved for theOrthodox Patriarchs of Antioch and Jerusalem. Further back, beyond a sailvault, is the Crusader apse, with windows that illuminate the church.
