Located in the heart of Jerusalem, right across the New Gate of Jerusalem’s Old City, the "Pontifical Institute Notre Damn of Jerusalem Center" was built by the French in 1888 to offer accommodation to the hundreds of pilgrims who came to Jerusalem every year.

The Notre Damn Center is located on the imaginary border line between East Jerusalem and the modern West Jerusalem. On this same border-line is the Museum on The Seam which tells the recent history of Jerusalem and relations between the Arabs and Jews in Jerusalem.  Also located nearby is Rockefeller Archaeological Museum and Damascus Gate.
