The Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem
The Rova Ha-Yehudi in Hebrew, or the Jewish quarter is one of the four quarters of ancient Jerusalem, it is located west of the Zion Gate in the southern part and the Temple Mount and Western Wall on the eastern side. The Jewish Quarter houses a great number of yeshivas and synagogues. The most prominent is the Hurva Synagogue that was constructed in the year 1701. After a series of restoration the new building was inaugurated in 2010 by the Israeli government and other organisations.
