Jerusalem Cross

The Five Fold Jerusalem Cross was a Crusader symbol used as the coat of arms starting from the First Crusade in 1096. Currently, it is used as an emblem of the Franciscan Custodian of the Holy Land and of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre. The Cross was originally designed for Godfrey of Bouillon, and integrates five crosses symbolizing the Five Wounds of Christ. The Jerusalem Cross was also used in the Latin Empire, by Crusader States and in the modern flag of Georgia.
