Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu in Jerusalem
Located on Jerusalem's Mt. Zion directly outside the Zion Gate and the Old City walls, the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu is a Roman Catholic house of worship. Latin for cock's-crow, Gallicantu commemorates Peter's rejection of Christ. The St. Peter in Gallicantu Church was built on Byzantine ruins, and dominates the skyline of Zion Mount. The church is lined with many elaborate mosaics, containing scenes from the Old and New Testaments.
