The Calvary, or Golgotha, is the site of Jesus' crucifixion as described in the Gospels. The Calvary is found at two sites in Jerusalem:
1. Within the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and is considered to be one of the most important stations of the 14 Stations of the Cross. The Calvary is reached by a long, winding staircase within the Holy Sepulchre Church, which was originally constructed in 325 A.D.
2. Outside the Garden Tomb where many non-Catholic Christians believe lies the true site of Christ's crucifixion (known as 'Gordon's Calvary')
